Long before the lodge was established on Etusis, only the old farmhouse existed, where Hertha and Erhard Krüger lived with their three children for 52 years until 1993.
Today you can book the farmhouse – with half board (please book at least 7 days ahead) or with self-catering. Three double bedrooms, a spacious living room, a kitchen and two bathrooms as well as a terrace with a wonderful view of the Etusis plains (the sunrise is spectacular) characterize the farmhouse. The rustic decor is partly still original from the time when Etusis was an agricultural Karakul sheep farm.
A spacious barbecue area in front of the house invites self-caterers to a typical African braai (barbeque).
If you are booking as a self-caterer: Remember, Etusis is off the main roads, about 40 minutes away from the nearest shopping in the small town of Karibib. So cover yourself with enough food for your stay.
We are also happy to serve you in our restaurant – please understand that due to the food procurement, unfortunately, we need your restaurant booking a week in advance.
The small farmhouse
If you need less space, can also refer to the small farmhouse built in 2012. It has a spacious living area – if needed space for 2 extra beds – a bedroom with double bed and a shower room, a kitchenette and a barbecue area.
It is located 300m away from the Lodge near the old farmhouse with a wonderful view of the Etusis plains.
The small farmhouse can be booked like the old farmhouse with half board or as a self-catering. Please also understand that we have to inform your self-catering visit to the restaurant one week in advance due to food procurement.
